The “Best of the Best” at Malibu Celebration of Film

Executive Director Kim Jackson who will be heading up the 2nd Annual Malibu Celebration of Film, will return on September 26th to 30th, 2007 to showcase award-winning festival films. The Malibu Celebration of Film is not a film festival, but a celebration of independent films, which were the ‘Best of the Best’ as the films won various awards once screened at film festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and Berlin among others. Within the Malibu community, they have the largest single group of Academy voters, who will have the rare opportunity to view programmed films on the big screen and meet the filmmakers. The concept of being different from all the other “festivals” is that MCOF will only be screening award winning films “by invitation only”. MCOF Executive Director, Kim Jackson is currently attending various film festivals to find the indie gems to invite for the celebration. MCOF has a prestigious Advisory Board of members from the Malibu community, which include David Arquette, Roger Corman, Courtney Cox, Norman Jewison, Tea Leoni, Ali MacGraw, Grace Slick, and more.
